Basic Life Support (BLS) – Adults, Children, Infants CPR & Automated External Defibrillation, Choking & Anaphylaxis

During this course, you will learn how to:
- Understand the importance of early recognition, escalation and calling for emergency assistance
- Assess a casualty using the DRSABC approach (Danger, Response, Shout for Help, Airway, Breathing, CPR) (adult and paediatric)
- Demonstrate the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Recognise and manage choking in adults, children and infants
- Recognise when cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is required and perform high- quality CPR in accordance with current national guidelines for adults, children and infants
- Provide ventilation using current guidelines
- Place an unconscious breathing casualty into the recovery position
- Identify the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and respond appropriately to the emergency with treatment (if appropriate)
