Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS)
Our RCUK-accredited Paediatric Immediate Life Support (PILS) Course equips healthcare professionals with the essential knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise and manage paediatric emergencies effectively.
During the PILS course, you will develop the skills to:
- Recognise and assess the seriously ill or deteriorating infant and child using a structured ABCDE approach
- Manage paediatric airways using simple airway manoeuvres and adjuncts
- Deliver high-quality paediatric CPR and perform safe and effective defibrillation when appropriate
- Identify the causes of cardiorespiratory arrest in infants and children and implement measures to help prevent deterioration
- Apply effective communication, leadership, and teamwork skills during paediatric emergencies and resuscitation attempts
ePILS - Paediatric Immediate Life Support (with e-learning element)
ePILS follows the same RCUK curriculum as the PILS course while incorporating an online learning component to reduce the time required for face-to-face training. This blended-learning format combines flexible e-learning with a focused practical session, enabling participants to consolidate their knowledge through hands-on skills training and realistic paediatric emergency scenarios.
